Northern California Medical Associates is proud to offer diabetes education classes to our patients. Classes are taught by our certified diabetes educators, who are registered dietitians. Patients enrolled in diabetes self-management classes are expected to complete the whole series. Each class is 2 hours and 15 minutes in length, in a group setting of 4–6 people. It is OK to bring one support person per enrolled patient. Most commercial insurance plans will cover the costs for the course. (Check with your health insurer to determine your actual coverage.) This class also can qualify for your once-in-a-lifetime Medicare benefit.
