Sally DeWald, AS, completed her Associates of Science degree in Business Management at College of Marin in Kentfield, Calif., in 1980. Upon graduating, Sally worked in the Legal Department for AMEX Life Assurance Company in San Rafael, Calif., until 1987. Sally then transitioned into the healthcare field when she worked as an office receptionist and billing specialist for a private physician office in Rohnert Park, Calif., from 1989–1995.
Sally first became a part of NCMA in 1995 working as an independent contractor where she was heavily involved with the physician credentialing process. She joined NCMA full-time in 2001. She accepted the position of director of Business Services at NCMA in 2008 and has been an integral part of NCMA’s administration team ever since.
Sally’s responsibilities within NCMA include providing direction and oversight to the daily operations of the Business Office. She manages a 30-person staff, participates in the formulation of objectives and operating goals, utilizes electronic medical records, electronic billing and practice management systems. Sally also maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry changes, including coding and Medicare compliance, and she remains involved with physician and mid-level credentialing in NCMA’s ever-expanding practice.
