Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery

Santa Rosa Head & Neck Surgery

Cosmetic plastic surgery of the face can “turn back time” by reducing the appearance of wrinkles and lines, sun damage and sagging skin that can make you look angry, sad or tired. Reconstructive procedures such as Mohs surgery for skin cancer, scar revision or trauma repair can restore the facial features after an injury or illness. SRHN offers physicians fellowship trained in cosmetic and facial plastic surgery to Sonoma County and the surrounding area.

  • BOTOX®: Commonly used to reduce or eliminate the appearance of facial wrinkles. It is injected under the skin into areas surrounding the eyes, forehead and mouth to smooth crow’s feet, frown and worry lines, and lines on the neck. Made from a purified protein, BOTOX® injections block nerve impulses, weakening muscles to relax wrinkles and give the face a rejuvenated look. BOTOX® may also be useful for migraine headaches, excessive sweating, and eye and neck muscle spasms.
  • Restylane®: Designed to smooth wrinkles, sculpt lips and shape facial contours. It is a clear gel composed of hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that is found throughout your body. This synthetic acid carries no risk of allergic reaction. The most common areas for treatment are the glabellar lines (between the eyebrows) and the nasolabial folds (from the root of the nose to the angle of your mouth). With its unique ability to bind with water, Restylane remains in your skin for many months.
  • Rhinoplasty (Nose Job): One of the most common plastic surgery procedures, rhinoplasty is performed to reshape, reduce or augment a person’s nose, remove a hump, narrow nostril width, change the angle between the nose and the mouth, or to correct injury, birth defects, or other problems that affect breathing. Rhinoplasty is usually an outpatient procedure performed under either local or general anesthesia and lasts one to two hours.
  • Blepharoplasty: Rejuvenates puffy, sagging or tired-looking eyes by removing excess fat, skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. It may be performed for cosmetic reasons or to improve sight by lifting droopy eyelids out of the patient’s field of vision. The procedure is usually performed in an office with local anesthesia in as little as 45 minutes. Blepharoplasty can be combined with a facelift or BOTOX® treatments to raise the eyebrows or reduce the appearance of wrinkles, crow’s feet or dark circles under the eyes.
