Dr. John Hollander has been in private practice in Santa Rosa for more than 25 years. He is a board-certified foot surgeon and fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is the director of the Foot and Ankle Clinic at Sonoma County Indian Health and a consultant to the Medical Board for the State of California.
Dr. Hollander is very knowledgeable in the workers compensation field and has lectured and taught on the subject. He sees and treats work comp patients on a regular basis.
Dr. Hollander has sat on the Board of American Diabetes Society and has lectured nationally and locally on diabetic education. He specializes in diabetic wounds and has had the privilege to participate in the care of many to allow them to keep their limbs, which they were told they would otherwise lose.
For many years Dr. Hollander was a biomechanics consultant to Kaiser Permanente of Northern California and clinical instructor at the California School of Podiatric Medicine. He also was one of the consulting doctors to the Oakland Raiders. Dr. Hollander sees and treats not only adults for sports injuries but also many of our young soccer players and ballerinas find their way to his office for injuries and biomechanical evaluations.
In 2002 Dr. Hollander was asked to be one of 10 physicians in the U.S. to participate in the post-FDA study trial for shockwave therapy for the treatment of plantar fasciitis. He was the first physician certified to do this treatment in Northern California. He lectures nationally on shockwave therapy. He also instructs and certifies other physicians n this new treatment for heel pain.
