Family Medicine

NCMA’s Family Medicine specialists see patients at offices throughout Sonoma County. NCMA philosophy is based on the fact that early screening and detection can result in less acute episodes of illness that are devastating both physically and financially. Family medicine physicians provide primary health care for people at every stage of life.

Office based prevention and screening programs include check-ups, health screenings, immunizations, laboratory tests, general and sports physical exams, well baby and well child care, behavioral health care, women’s health, and many other primary medical care services.  NCMA’s Family Medicine physicians also specialize helping patients identify and manage chronic diseases including diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and arthritis.

To supplement the medical services offered, NCMA strongly believes that sustainable improvements in health are only achieved through thorough patient education and support. By providing access to a comprehensive understanding of an illness, NCMA has identified greater patient compliance to treatment and fewer complications and severity of illness. Patient education is provided on an individual basis by both physicians and nurse practitioners. Support groups for patients and family with chronic illness are an additional way that the NCMA Family Medicine staff supports its patients and families.
