BIO: Dr. DeCastro is a native of South Africa, where she obtained her undergraduate degree in speech and hearing therapy. She holds a master’s degree from University of Washington (1983) and a Doctor of Audiology from University of Florida (2005). She is Board Certified in Audiology, a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association.

She has broad-based clinical experience in a variety of medical settings (House Ear Institute in Los Angeles, Virginia Mason Clinic, Seattle Ear Clinic), where she provided full diagnostic and rehabilitative audiology services, including cochlear implants, for twenty five years. Most recently, the focus of her clinical practice was on fitting hearing aids within a retail hearing aid setting at SoundHearing in Bellevue, Washington.

She joined Santa Rosa Head and Neck Surgical Group in 2010 and welcomed the opportunity to return to a medically-supported audiology practice. As a member of a team dedicated to providing comprehensive assessment and treatment of hearing and balance disorders, she values the practice emphasis on excellence and patient-focused care. She has a special interest in offering personalized hearing instrument solutions and guiding patients on their journey to better hearing and improved quality of life.
